Cryotherapy device
Cryotherapy devices apply extreme cold to freeze and destroy targeted tissue, or controlled cold for local cooling. They are used in dermatology, gynaecology for cervical lesions, ENT, ophthalmology and in physiotherapy and sports medicine.
Common types
- Liquid nitrogen spray or probe unit: hand-held dewar for dermatology lesions.
- Nitrous oxide or carbon dioxide cryosurgery unit: gas-driven probes, common in gynaecology clinics.
- Argon-based cryosurgery system: used for deeper interventional freezing of tumours.
- Cold air or cooling therapy unit: blows chilled air for skin cooling and physiotherapy.
- Whole-body or local cryotherapy chamber: used in sports medicine and rehabilitation.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Cryogen type (liquid nitrogen, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, argon) and how it is supplied
- Dewar or cylinder capacity and holding time
- Probe or spray tip sizes and shapes for the intended lesions
- Temperature range and control method
- Accessories: cylinder regulators, spare tips, carrying case
- Power supply voltage and plug type for electrically powered units
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or the destination country's registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, and IEC 60601-1 test reports for electrically powered units. Pressure vessels may need the destination country's pressure equipment approvals. Whole body cryotherapy chambers sold for wellness or sports recovery are usually not medical devices and carry no medical claims, so ask how the destination country classifies them.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Is liquid nitrogen supplied with the device?
No. The device holds the cryogen, but liquid nitrogen or gas cylinders are bought locally from an industrial or medical gas supplier. Check local availability before choosing the cryogen type.
