Urine analyser
A urine analyser reads chemical test strips or examines formed elements in urine to support routine urinalysis. Hospitals, clinics, laboratories and primary health centres use it for screening, diagnosis support and monitoring of patients.
Common types
- Urine chemistry analyser: reads reagent strips by reflectance to report glucose, protein, blood, pH and other parameters.
- Urine sediment analyser: identifies cells, casts and crystals by flow cytometry or digital imaging.
- Integrated urinalysis line: links strip reading and sediment analysis on one sample.
- Handheld strip reader: a small battery unit for clinics and screening points.
- Urine test strips: single to multi parameter strips used visually or with a reader.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Chemistry, sediment or both
- Number of strip parameters required, such as 10, 11 or 14
- Throughput in samples per hour
- Manual strip dipping or automatic sample handling
- Strip compatibility and pack size
- Printer, LIS connection, power supply and plug type
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU IVDR or destination country IVD registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, and IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-101 for the instrument. The strips are registered as IVD reagents in their own right.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Can a strip reader use any brand of urine strip?
Usually not. Readers are calibrated for the colour charts and pad layout of specific strips, so a buyer should confirm which strips the reader is validated for before ordering.
