Laboratory centrifuge
A laboratory centrifuge spins samples at high speed to separate components such as serum from blood cells. Clinical laboratories, blood banks, research facilities and clinics use centrifuges for sample preparation and processing.
Common types
- Low speed benchtop centrifuge: used for routine blood tube separation.
- High speed centrifuge: reaches higher forces for cell and protein work.
- Refrigerated centrifuge: keeps samples cool during the run.
- Microcentrifuge: spins small tubes of 0.2 to 2 ml.
- Blood bank centrifuge: a floor standing unit for blood bags.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Maximum speed in rpm and relative centrifugal force
- Rotor types needed: swing out or fixed angle
- Tube sizes and number of tubes per run
- Refrigeration and temperature range if needed
- Imbalance detection, lid lock and programme memory
- Power supply, plug type and bench or floor space
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually request CE marking, IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-020 test reports for laboratory centrifuges, and ISO 13485 for the maker if the unit is sold as an IVD or medical device.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Why state RCF and not only rpm?
Separation depends on relative centrifugal force, which depends on both speed and rotor radius. Test protocols usually specify RCF, so the buyer should confirm the centrifuge reaches the required force with the rotor supplied.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
