Laboratory incubator

A laboratory incubator keeps samples, cultures or cells at a controlled temperature, and in some models controlled carbon dioxide and humidity. Microbiology labs, IVF units, research facilities and pharmaceutical quality control labs use them.

Common types

  • Bacteriological incubator: holds a set temperature for culture plates.
  • CO2 incubator: controls carbon dioxide and humidity for cell culture.
  • Cooled incubator: can hold temperatures below ambient for specific tests.
  • Shaking incubator: combines temperature control with orbital shaking.
  • Anaerobic workstation: provides an oxygen free atmosphere for anaerobic organisms.

What to tell us when you ask for a quotation

  • Temperature range, accuracy and uniformity
  • Chamber volume and number of shelves
  • CO2 sensor type and control range if needed
  • Natural or forced air convection
  • Door type, alarm and data logging
  • Power supply and plug type
  • Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).

Documents to ask for

Buyers usually request CE marking, IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-010 test reports, and ISO 13485 for the maker when the incubator is sold as a medical or IVD device.

Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.

Why does sensor type matter in a CO2 incubator?

Infrared sensors are less affected by humidity changes and door openings than thermal conductivity sensors. The choice affects how stable CO2 levels remain during daily use.
