ELISA reader and washer
An ELISA reader measures colour or light in microplate wells after an enzyme immunoassay, and a washer removes unbound material between assay steps. Laboratories, blood banks and research facilities use them for infectious disease, hormone and antibody testing.
Common types
- Absorbance microplate reader: measures optical density at fixed filter wavelengths.
- Multimode reader: adds fluorescence and luminescence detection.
- Microplate washer: dispenses and aspirates wash buffer for 96-well plates in strips or full plates.
- Automated ELISA processor: combines pipetting, incubation, washing and reading.
- Combined reader and washer set: supplied together for smaller laboratories.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Filter wavelengths needed, such as 405, 450, 492 and 630 nm
- Plate formats: 96-well, strip plates or 384-well
- Washer channels, residual volume and number of buffer bottles
- Incubation and shaking functions
- Software, data export and printer
- Power supply and plug type
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU IVDR or destination country IVD registration, ISO 13485 for the maker and IEC 61010-1 test reports. ELISA kits are registered as separate IVD reagents.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Is any ELISA kit compatible with any reader?
Most ELISA kits only need a reader with the right wavelength filter, usually 450 nm with a reference filter. The kit insert states the wavelength, so a buyer should confirm the reader has the matching filters.
