Nucleic acid extractor

A nucleic acid extractor automatically purifies DNA or RNA from samples such as swabs, blood and tissue before molecular testing. It is used in clinical laboratories, public health labs and research facilities that run PCR or sequencing.

Common types

  • Magnetic bead extractor: moves magnetic rods or tips through prefilled plates to capture nucleic acids.
  • Spin column workstation: automates column based purification steps.
  • Liquid handling workstation: performs extraction and sets up PCR plates in one system.
  • Low throughput extractor: processes 8 to 32 samples per run.
  • High throughput extractor: processes 96 samples per run.

What to tell us when you ask for a quotation

  • Samples per run and run time
  • Sample types and input volumes
  • Compatible extraction kits: open or dedicated
  • UV lamp, HEPA filtration and contamination control features
  • Elution volume range
  • Power supply, plug type and bench space
  • Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).

Documents to ask for

Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU IVDR or destination country IVD registration where used for diagnosis, ISO 13485 for the maker and IEC 61010-1 test reports. Extraction kits are registered separately.

Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.

Can one extractor run kits from different makers?

Open extractors accept kits from various makers when the protocol is programmed, while closed systems run only dedicated kits. Each kit and protocol combination should be validated by the laboratory.
