Laboratory shaker and mixer
Laboratory shakers and mixers agitate samples, reagents and cultures to keep them mixed or suspended. Clinical laboratories, blood banks, microbiology units and research facilities use them for routine sample preparation.
Common types
- Orbital shaker: moves flasks or plates in a circular motion.
- Vortex mixer: mixes small tubes quickly by touch or continuous mode.
- Tube rotator or roller: gently inverts blood tubes to keep cells suspended.
- Rocking shaker: tilts trays back and forth for gels and membranes.
- Magnetic stirrer: rotates a stir bar in a vessel, often with heating.

Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking, IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-051 test reports, and ISO 13485 for the maker if the unit is sold as an IVD accessory.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Which mixer suits blood tubes waiting for haematology testing?
A tube roller or rotator gently inverts tubes and keeps cells suspended without damaging them. Vortex mixing is too harsh for this use.
