Coagulation analyser
A coagulation analyser measures how blood clots by running tests such as PT, APTT, fibrinogen, thrombin time and D-dimer on citrated plasma. It is used in hospital laboratories, surgical units and anticoagulation clinics.
Common types
- Semi automatic coagulometer: the operator adds reagents, and the instrument detects clot formation in one to four channels.
- Fully automatic coagulation analyser: handles sampling, reagents and measurement with clotting, chromogenic and immunoturbidimetric methods.
- Thromboelastography analyser: records the viscoelastic properties of whole blood clotting, often used in surgery.
- Point of care coagulation meter: gives PT and INR from a fingerstick sample.
- Platelet function analyser: assesses platelet aggregation or adhesion.

- Detection methods: mechanical or optical clot detection, chromogenic, immunoturbidimetric
- Throughput and number of measuring channels
- Cap piercing, sample capacity and reagent cooling
- Open or closed reagent use
- LIS connectivity, power supply and plug type
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually request CE marking under the EU IVDR or destination country IVD registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, and IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-101 test reports. ISI values for PT reagents are also requested.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Why does the PT reagent ISI value matter?
The ISI expresses how sensitive a thromboplastin reagent is compared with an international reference. It is needed to convert a PT result into an INR, so the reagent insert must state it for the analyser in use.
