POCT analyser
A POCT analyser is a compact instrument that runs diagnostic tests near the patient rather than in a central laboratory. Emergency departments, clinics, pharmacies, wards and rural health centres use it when fast results are needed.
Common types
- Fluorescence immunoassay reader: reads single test cartridges for cardiac, inflammation and hormone markers.
- Rapid test reader: reads lateral flow strips objectively and stores results.
- Handheld chemistry analyser: runs small panels such as lipids or HbA1c from a fingerstick sample.
- Portable blood gas or electrolyte unit: uses single use cards at the bedside.
- Glucose meter: measures blood glucose from capillary blood with test strips.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Test menu required and registration status of each test cartridge
- Sample type and volume, such as fingerstick, whole blood or serum
- Time to result and number of tests run in parallel
- Battery operation, portability and storage temperature of test kits
- Data storage, printer and connectivity options
- Language of the interface and power plug type
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU IVDR or the destination country's IVD registration, ISO 13485 for the maker and IEC 61010-1 with IEC 61010-2-101 for the reader. Each test kit needs its own registration.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Do POCT test cartridges need cold storage?
Some cartridges are stable at room temperature and others need refrigeration. The kit insert states the storage range, which matters for shipping and storage in warm climates.
