Syringe pump

A syringe pump drives the plunger of a syringe at a precisely controlled speed to deliver small volumes of medicine over time. It is used in intensive care, neonatal units, anaesthesia and wards where accurate low flow rates are needed.

Common types

  • Single-channel syringe pump: one syringe, the standard ward and intensive care model.
  • Dual-channel syringe pump: two syringes driven independently in one housing.
  • Anaesthesia syringe pump: includes drug libraries and modes for target-controlled infusion.
  • Syringe driver for palliative care: small, battery-powered unit for continuous subcutaneous infusion.
  • Docking station: a rack that holds, powers and connects several pumps.

What to tell us when you ask for a quotation

  • Syringe sizes accepted (for example 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50 ml) and whether it recognises syringe brands automatically
  • Flow rate range and increment, bolus function and accuracy
  • Alarms: occlusion pressure levels, near empty, end of infusion, low battery and syringe disengaged
  • Drug library, display language and data connectivity
  • Battery running time, voltage and plug type
  • Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).

Documents to ask for

Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or local registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, and IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-2-24 test reports.

Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.

Can we use any brand of syringe in the pump?

The pump is calibrated for a list of syringe brands and sizes stored in its software. Buyers should check that the syringes available in their country are on that list, or ask the maker to add them before delivery.
