Patient positioning and pressure care
Patient positioning and pressure care products are pads, cushions and supports that hold a patient in a set position and protect the skin over bony areas. They are used on operating tables, in intensive care, in imaging rooms and on ward beds.
Common types
- Gel positioning pads: viscoelastic polymer pads shaped for the head, arms, chest, heels and other contact points on the operating table.
- Foam positioners and wedges: lighter, lower-cost supports for turning and propping patients on ward beds.
- Heel and elbow protectors: shaped boots or sleeves that lift the heel or elbow off the mattress.
- Vacuum positioning cushions: bead-filled cushions that become rigid when air is removed, holding the patient in place.
- Pressure-relief overlays: thin pads placed over a mattress or table top to spread pressure.

Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or local registration, ISO 13485 for the maker and ISO 10993 biocompatibility data for materials in contact with skin.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
How are gel positioning pads cleaned between patients?
Most gel pads have a sealed, non-porous surface that is wiped with a hospital disinfectant compatible with the material. The buyer should ask the maker for a list of approved cleaning agents, because some solvents can damage the gel or its skin.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
