Washer-disinfector

A washer-disinfector cleans and thermally or chemically disinfects reusable instruments, bowls and containers before inspection and sterilisation. Hospital sterile services departments, operating theatres and dental clinics use them to make reprocessing consistent.

Common types

  • Instrument washer-disinfector: racks for surgical instruments.
  • Endoscope washer-disinfector: for flexible endoscopes with channel connectors.
  • Bedpan washer: cleans and disinfects bedpans and urine bottles.
  • Ultrasonic cleaner: removes soil before washing using ultrasound.
  • Tunnel washer: high volume continuous system.

Documents to ask for

Buyers ask for CE marking under the EU MDR, ISO 13485 for the maker, conformity with the relevant parts of ISO 15883 and IEC 61010-2-040.

Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.

What does the A0 value mean?

A0 expresses the lethality of a moist heat disinfection process as an equivalent time at 80 degrees Celsius. ISO 15883 uses it to set disinfection levels.
