Low-temperature steriliser
A low-temperature steriliser sterilises heat and moisture sensitive instruments such as endoscopes, cameras and some plastics at temperatures well below steam cycles. Hospital sterile services departments and operating theatres use them alongside steam sterilisers.
Common types
- Hydrogen peroxide plasma steriliser: uses vaporised hydrogen peroxide with short cycles.
- Ethylene oxide steriliser: penetrates complex devices but needs aeration time.
- Low temperature steam and formaldehyde steriliser: used in some European hospitals.
- Peracetic acid system: liquid chemical processing for endoscopes.
- Industrial EO steriliser: large chambers for medical device makers.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Sterilisation method and chamber volume
- Cycle time and aeration time
- Lumen length and diameter limits
- Consumable cartridges or gas supply
- Room ventilation and gas handling requirements
- Power supply, plug type and printer
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually request CE marking under the EU MDR, ISO 13485 for the maker, IEC 61010-2-040, and for EO sterilisers EN 1422. Instrument makers' compatibility lists are also requested. Process standards include EN 14180 for low temperature steam and formaldehyde and ISO 22441 for vaporised hydrogen peroxide.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Can every instrument go into a hydrogen peroxide steriliser?
No. Cellulose, linen, liquids and some long narrow lumens are not compatible. Buyers should check the instrument makers' instructions and the steriliser's lumen claims.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
