HEPA filtration and pressure control

HEPA filtration and pressure control systems clean supplied air and keep air flowing in the right direction between rooms. Hospitals use them in operating rooms, isolation rooms, pharmacies and laboratories to limit airborne contamination.

Common types

  • HEPA filter: high efficiency filter for removing fine particles.
  • ULPA filter: higher efficiency for very clean areas.
  • Air handling unit: conditions and moves air for a zone.
  • Pressure monitor: displays pressure difference with alarms.
  • Isolation room control: keeps rooms at negative or positive pressure.

Documents to ask for

Buyers usually ask for filter test reports to EN 1822 or ISO 29463, room performance testing to ISO 14644 and electrical safety documents for powered units.

Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.

Should an isolation room be negative or positive pressure?

Rooms for patients with airborne infections are generally negative pressure to keep air from flowing out. Rooms protecting patients with weak immune systems are positive.
