Suction catheter and tubing
Suction catheters and tubing are single-use items that connect a suction source to the patient to remove secretions and fluids. They are used for airway suctioning in wards and intensive care, and for fluid removal in theatres.
Common types
- Open suction catheter: a single-use catheter with a thumb control port for airway suctioning.
- Closed suction catheter: stays connected to the ventilator circuit inside a protective sleeve.
- Yankauer suction handle: a rigid tip for oral and surgical field suction.
- Suction connecting tubing: links the patient device to the suction unit or jar.

Documents to ask for
Buyers ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or the destination country's registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, ISO 10993 biocompatibility data, and ISO 11135 or ISO 11137 sterilisation validation.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
How are suction catheter sizes identified?
Sizes are given in French gauge, and many makers colour-code the connector by size. Listing French sizes with quantities in the request avoids confusion.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
