Medical gas pipeline system
A medical gas pipeline system supplies oxygen, medical air, nitrous oxide and vacuum from central sources through pipes to outlets at the bedside. It serves operating theatres, intensive care units, wards and emergency departments, with bed head units and ceiling pendants.
Common types
- Source equipment: oxygen manifolds, PSA plants, medical air compressors and vacuum pumps.
- Pipeline and valves: copper pipework, zone valve boxes and pressure monitoring.
- Terminal units: gas outlets for each gas, to a national connection standard.
- Bed head units: wall panels with gas outlets, power sockets, lighting and nurse call.
- Ceiling pendants: movable arms carrying gases, power and equipment shelves in theatres and ICU.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation

- Source equipment capacity based on bed numbers and usage
- Alarm panels: area and master alarms, and their placement
- Bed head unit or pendant configuration: shelves, power sockets, data points
- Drawings, installation, commissioning and testing scope

Documents to ask for
Buyers ask for conformity to ISO 7396-1 for pipeline systems and ISO 9170-1 for terminal units, CE marking under the EU MDR or the destination country's registration for the medical device components, and ISO 13485 for the maker.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Can the outlets be supplied to our country's standard?
Outlets are made to several national standards, and they are not interchangeable. State the standard already used in your hospital so new outlets match existing equipment.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
