Oxygen cylinder and regulator
Oxygen cylinders store medical oxygen under high pressure, and regulators and flowmeters reduce that pressure and set the flow delivered to the patient. They are used in hospitals, ambulances, clinics and home care, and as backup to pipeline supplies.
Common types
- Steel cylinders: made without welds, in sizes from small portable to large bank cylinders.
- Aluminium cylinders: lighter, often used for portable and ambulance oxygen.
- Pressure regulators: reduce cylinder pressure, with built-in flow selectors or outlets for flowmeters.
- Wall flowmeters: connect to pipeline outlets and set flow, often with a humidifier bottle.
- Cylinder trolleys and carry bags: for moving cylinders safely.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Cylinder material, water capacity, working pressure and valve type
- Valve outlet and connection standard (for example pin index or bullnose) used in the destination country
- Regulator inlet connection, outlet pressure and flow range
- Flowmeter type (ball tube or click type), flow range and wall outlet probe type
- Cylinder colour coding required by the destination country
- Accessories: humidifier bottles, trolleys, carry bags
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or the destination country's registration for regulators and flowmeters, ISO 13485 for the maker, ISO 10524-1 for pressure regulators, and the destination's pressure equipment approvals for cylinders, such as ISO 9809 for refillable steel gas cylinders.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Are cylinders supplied filled?
Cylinders are normally shipped empty and filled locally by a licensed medical gas supplier. Check that local fillers can handle the valve type you order.
