Anaesthesia machine
An anaesthesia machine delivers a controlled mixture of oxygen, air, nitrous oxide and anaesthetic vapour to the patient, usually with a built-in ventilator. It is used in operating theatres, day surgery units, obstetric theatres and induction rooms.
Common types
- Anaesthesia workstation: integrated ventilator, gas monitoring and electronic flow control for main theatres.
- Mid-range anaesthesia machine: mechanical flowmeters with a built-in ventilator for general use.
- Basic or portable machine: simpler unit for small facilities, field use or MRI rooms when specified as MRI conditional.
- Vaporisers: agent-specific units for sevoflurane, isoflurane or desflurane, mounted on the machine.
What to tell us when you ask for a quotation
- Gases required (oxygen, air, nitrous oxide) and gas supply connection standard (pipeline and cylinder yokes)
- Ventilation modes needed (volume control, pressure control, pressure support) and patient range from neonatal to adult
- Number and agent type of vaporisers and the mounting system
- Monitoring: gas analysis, spirometry, and connection to the patient monitor
- Breathing system, absorber type and anaesthetic gas scavenging
- Battery backup and power supply voltage and plug type
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or the destination country's registration, ISO 13485 for the maker, and test reports to IEC 60601-1 and ISO 80601-2-13 for anaesthetic workstations.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Why does the gas connection standard matter?
Pipeline outlets and hose connectors follow different national systems, so a machine with the wrong probes will not connect to your hospital's gas outlets. State your outlet standard or send a photo of the outlets with the request.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
