Medical tubing and connectors
Medical tubing and connectors are the plastic and silicone tubes, fittings and adapters used to build infusion, respiratory, suction and other fluid paths. They are bought by device makers and by hospitals for use with equipment and disposable sets.
Common types
- PVC tubing: low-cost tubing for infusion sets, suction and drainage lines, available DEHP-free.
- Silicone tubing: flexible, heat-resistant tubing for pump segments, drains and reusable uses.
- TPU tubing: polyurethane tubing used where kink resistance and clarity are needed.
- Luer connectors: male and female luer lock and slip fittings, caps and adapters.
- Needle-free connectors, stopcocks and extension sets: accessories for intravenous lines.

Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for ISO 13485 for the maker, ISO 10993 biocompatibility or USP Class VI data for the material, ISO 80369-7 for luer connectors, and CE marking or local registration where the item is sold as a finished device.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Why do buyers ask for DEHP-free tubing?
DEHP is a plasticiser used to soften PVC, and some regulators restrict it in devices that contact patients, especially children. Many buyers specify DEHP-free PVC or alternative materials to meet these rules.
