Physiotherapy equipment
Physiotherapy equipment covers the electrotherapy units, treatment couches and exercise devices that physiotherapists use to treat pain and restore movement. It is used in hospital physiotherapy departments, rehabilitation centres, sports clinics and private practices.
Common types
- Electrotherapy unit: delivers TENS, interferential and other electrical stimulation currents.
- Therapeutic ultrasound unit: applies ultrasound through a treatment head to soft tissue.
- Shockwave therapy unit: delivers pressure waves through an applicator.
- Traction unit: applies controlled pulling force to the cervical or lumbar spine.
- Treatment couch and exercise equipment: height-adjustable couches, parallel bars, exercise bikes and weights.

Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for CE marking under the EU MDR or local registration and ISO 13485 for the maker, plus IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-10 for nerve and muscle stimulators and IEC 60601-2-5 for ultrasound physiotherapy equipment.
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
Are combination units better than separate devices?
A combination unit puts electrotherapy and ultrasound in one housing, which saves space and cost in small clinics. Larger departments often prefer separate units so that more than one patient can be treated at the same time.
