Optical and vision care products
Optical and vision care products are spectacle frames, spectacle lenses, ready readers and related items that correct vision or protect the eyes. They are sold through optical shops, optometry practices, eye hospitals and vision programmes.
Common types
- Spectacle frames: metal, acetate, nylon based thermoplastic (TR) or titanium frames for prescription lenses.
- Single vision lenses: one power across the lens, stocked as finished or semi-finished blanks.
- Progressive and bifocal lenses: more than one power for distance and near vision.
- Coated and filter lenses: anti-reflective, blue filter, photochromic or polarised options.
- Ready readers and sunglasses: non-prescription glasses for near work or sun protection.

- Finished or semi-finished lenses, and whether edging is needed
- Packing, cases and cleaning cloths, and labelling
- Quantity, destination country and the delivery terms you want (for example EXW, FOB or CIF).
Documents to ask for
Buyers usually ask for ISO 12870 for frames, ISO 8980 and ISO 14889 for spectacle lenses, ISO 12312-1 for sunglasses, and CE marking or the destination country's registration where spectacles are regulated as medical devices (in the EU, prescription spectacles and lenses are medical devices under the MDR, while sunglasses are PPE under Regulation (EU) 2016/425).
Certificates and registrations belong to the product and its manufacturer. We check them with you against the rules of your market before any order.
What does lens index mean?
The refractive index describes how strongly the lens material bends light. A higher index lens can be made thinner for the same power, which matters for strong prescriptions, while standard index lenses cost less.
Send us the specification and quantity. We compare manufacturers in China and reply with options, lead times and the documents that come with each product. NJMC sources and checks; it does not manufacture.
